Freelance...

Not liking this freelance lark so far. I finished at berthas workers last week but don’t have any definite work to be getting on with yet. I have two jobs that are nearing the good to go point. But im not enjoying this waiting bit. I should be doing tutorials and learning new stuff really. But it’s always in the back of my head that no money is coming in. So didn’t do much at the weekend. Trying to keep as much money in the bank as possible! That and my dads been ill in hospital again. Rubbish! Not the best of weeks. : (

Lynda.com

So for the rest of this afternoon I think I will brush up on my skill set! I want to learn more about css and div tags. I can still produce work like this, but I know the way that Im creating stuff is fairly old school. I still use tables to position graphics and site frames, when I know I should really be using div tags. I get how css and div tags work but what it boils down to is the positioning of graphics, specifically alignment to the left and right. Once I grasp that I should be rocking! The best place for me to look in times like this is www.lynda.com I’ve learnt a lot from the tutorials on Lynda and I’m hoping she can teach me a thing or two about css!

Blood Brothers

Went to see Blood Brothers at the theatre in York last night. Was really good. Great story. Never really been into musicals much. And I’m still not! I think I could of watched it with out the singing bits and people stood with their legs about lifting their arms slowly up to spotlights.
That’s not to paint a bad picture of Blood Brothers though. It is a really good show and a great story.

Night Out in Manchester

A rather late decision was made to go see some friends in Manchester, Fallowield on Saturday. But a great decision is was! Awesome time. Met some great people and went to a great bar/club called baa bar (nice site bit republic looking). Music was ok but they had a wall of led lights, which won, me over. When I get a house I want a wall of light! We were drawn to it like moths. Finished the night/morning off with Short Circuit 2 and Big on DVD.. Best films ever!
